For our R&D department, we are now looking for a :
Embedded software engineer (M/F)
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
You participate as a member of the R&D team responsible for developing the embedded software for new thermal printers (low level drivers and embedded application software).
Your main responsibility is the embedded software development of the printing system of Dymo products. That includes driving the print head and the tape transport motor, for various printing media and ribbons, with various power sources (adapter, USB powered, battery powered), at various printing speeds.
Responsibilities also include definition, analysis, programming, documentation, prototyping, debugging, testing, qualification, and release to production of reliable printer embedded software solutions.
Other design areas include user interface, displays, keyboards, motion control, host IO communications systems (USB and other), A/D conversion and different operating systems.
Work under general project level supervision in an independent manner, responsible for carrying out assignments of moderate to high difficulty and strategic impact on the overall project. Work according to agreed global processes and ISO procedures.
You analyse and develop embedded software solutions for the printer range of Dymo products.
You build up knowledge about printing technologies and print parameter improvements.
Conceptual design and system design, based on product specification.
Your specific responsibilities include definition, analysis, programming, documentation, prototyping, testing and debugging, qualification, and release to production of reliable embedded software solutions.
You develop within agreed timing/cost/quality constraints, according to the agreed specification.
Selection of architecture and key components of hardware and embedded software systems.
